What are the flaws and who is affected by these flaws?
Researchers Consult just issued a warning about surveillance equipment built by Chinese manufacturer, That implemented hidden Technology into these cameras. They found a bunch of critical vulnerabilities that make it easy for hackers to take over your CCTV cameras & Webcams and spy on you.
One of the flaws is many of the devices come with a default password and default login to the cameras. That security flaw is easy to penetrate. Also there’s no password at all on some of these devices and no requirement to set one.
Other vulnerabilities include limited multiple low encrypted Wi-Fi or Internet communication channels, along with a flaw to check the integrity of firmware updates that aren’t signed.
One of the worst flaws deals with the P2P Cloud feature. It bypasses firewalls and allows remote connections into private networks.
With all of the discovered Flaws & vulnerabilities, hackers could find your cameras and easily exploit them from number of way to attack you.
This will allow the attackers to Spy on you and even use the other devices in your house to hear you or activate them remotely.

What kind of steps can we take?
First thing that you can do is to change all the default passwords you have on your devices and make sure to do it regularly. Also make sure to put a complex password that contain numbers, symbols, upper case and lower case characters.  But the problem is that passwords aren’t the only potential vulnerabilities. The others that we listed have no resolution. Do your researcher to make sure you got a secured device that is recommend by other users and still make sure to take the steps above.
So here’s a massive list of brands that might be using these security flaws devices, without knowing or knowing they are completely unsecured.  If you have one, you might want to stop using it or check and see the reviews on that device.
